PANAMA: off-shore, tropical paradise offering advantages to those who resettle here both before or after retirement.  Panama is the safest and most stable country in Central and South America, a tropical paradise, free of conflict, and economically and politically stable.  Panama is one the best locations in the world to establish a second home.  Among its features are a sophisticated business sector and a population of 3 million distributed across 29,700 miles of Panamanian national territory.

Panama is within the reach of your budget:  Normally this type of pristine, natural beauty comes attached to an equally impressive high price tag.  But, in Panama, the prices continue to be some of the most competitive on the market.  Panama is a spectacular destination.  Here you find magnificent homes with some of the lowest prices in the world that make it possible to establish a second home.  Here in Panama we have different climatic zones, such as tropcial, temperate, and beautiful beaches as well as boast prime locations for living such as Boquete, Volcan, the islands of Bocas del Toro, Anton Valley, and Panama City.  Panama City is a cosmopolitan capital and has been referred to as a mini-Miami distinguished by its privileged geographic position.

Panama is tourist-friendly:  English is spoken as a second language here and Panamanians are some of the most courteous people in world; always ready to help.

The Panama Canal unites the Atlantic with the Pacific Ocean and is 50 miles long.  Through it pass some 14,000 ships per year with an average transit time per ship of approximately  eight hours.  Panama unites a series of characteristics that make it a fiscal paradise, par excelence.

The U.S. Dollar: circulates freely here (the Balboa is equivalent to an American dollar).

Confidentiallity: All communication between client and lawyer is protected by Panamanian law.

Ease and Speed of Ship Registry: Under the Merchant Marine Law of 1928 it is possible to register a ship in record time (in less than a day), and register yachts in approximately one to two days.  In terms of tons and number of registered ships Panama has the largest Merchant Marine fleet in the world.

Fiscal System: The principal fiscal law applied in Panama is that of low tax jurisdictions; which is to say that only income from a Panamanian source (on Panamainian soil) is subject to taxes.  Therefore income from activities outside of Panama is exempt from taxation here.  Desposits in Panamanian bank accounts are also tax exempt.

International Banking Center: Located in Panama are more that 130 banks, including some of the largest banks in the world.

Communication: Panama has a sophisticated and uninterrupted communications system (telephone, telex, fax, internet, etc.)  The country also benefits from excellent air and sea tranportation infrastructure which also invests in the largest banking center in Latin America.
